It’s Beginning to Smell a Lot Like Christmas…

The Holiday Season has officially arrived here at Indian Head Resort. How do you know that webguy? (you ask) Well because one day last week as I was parking my car, I stepped out into the wonderful aroma of gingerbread baking. Right then, I discovered something important: even though it was Monday and – as many of you remember, I’m sure- we had about a foot of trick or treat snow, and I had a lot to do and yadda yadda yadda… BUT I discovered that it’s very difficult to maintain a bad mood when you are surrounded by the smell of gingerbread baking! Try it, you’ll see that I’m right.

This is the third year that Chef Mike has baked up a few hundred pounds of gingerbread cookie slabs,  whipped up a few 5 gallon pails of icing and unwrapped a few hundred Lifesavers and Candy Canes and gets busy.  All of these materials are carted to the Lobby and (with some help from the kitchen elves) meticulously crafted into the impressive structure you see to the left. To top it all off, the entire lobby smells like gingerbread through out the holiday season, which is a good thing!

During the next few months, Indian Head Resort will be hosting hundreds of guests, some visiting us for the first time, many of which make a visit to us a part of a yearly holiday tradition.  We are proud of being a part of so many families’ holiday observations and enjoy the cards, letters and emails we get thanking us for being a headquarters for holiday gatherings that lead to years of warm memories.

Between now and the end of 2012, we will be offering Harvest-Your-Own Christmas Tree Weekends, The Olde Thanksgiving Special, which combines the Harvest-Your-Own Christmas Tree package with a delicious Thanksgiving Dinner, we will provide for many company and group holiday functions, topped off by our “Party of The Year” New Year’s Eve Celebration.  Please check out any or all of these specials on our Events Calendar in or our Specials section.  We would love to be a part of YOUR Holiday this year.  Oh yeah, and don’t forget to stop and smell the gingerbread!

Regards,
